I Would Describe Myself As

Retired professional with a teaching and publishing background, I enjoy the more reasonably priced cultural events of the city.. I enjoy art films, like those they show at the Film Forumm, the major museums and the many concerts sponsored by churches and music schools like Juilliard. Among thearer productions I generally steer clear of the glitzy big Broadway productions and prefer to patronize the more experimental theater productions off broadway.last but not least I enjoy reading—especially the old masters whose work I missed or was just too young to appreciate when I was college gas. Apart from the life of the mind, I thoroughly enjoy good food and wine, especially when enjoyed with friends who have something of substance to say abou the state of the world and our nation’s role in it. A former marathoner and cyclist, I also enjoy nature and the outdoors. I enjoy a brisk walk in the morning and longer excursions—almost but not quite hikes—on weekends. I’m a practicing Episcopalian, and enjoy being a member do St Luke’s in the West Village. Divorced for over 25 years, I have two grown daughters and a 4 year old granddaughter. Though I’ve been married to a woman for 15 years, I have finally emerged from the closet and identify myself as a gay man. I number among my friends lesbians and transgender people. I can’t imagine a modern, exciting and innovative society without people like us.
